Don’t Meddle, Muddle.

SometimesWhiskey

So it’s been hot here lately (thanks for listening Mother Nature – and I don’t want to seem ungrateful – but WOW that’s warm), and with all the stuff that’s going on I decided to see how well the Olimpico highballs would perform their intended purpose… I wasn’t disappointed. Something about a well executed julep makes you want to don a light suit, a Panama hat and get your Kentucky Derby pimp on… Hef I see you with your arm candy, but somewhere along the line you forgot that brunettes are better.

Recipe for Mint Julep.

1. Muddle 3 or 4 fresh mint leaves with a generous teaspoon of cane sugar in the bottom of a whisky highball glass.

2. Pour in a modest splash of soda water and stir well to dissolve the sugar.

3. Fill the glass with a handful of crushed ice and fill to the rim with a top notch Bourbon.

4. Garnish with more mint and enjoy.

NB: If you don’t have an ice crusher, you can break up some ice cubes in a Ziploc freezer bag using a meat tenderizer or a rolling pin, and then store the balance in the freezer in case you want another round. You probably will.
